The Benefits of Membership

Membership in Karate Ontario is by club

Karate Ontario requires that clubs register each of their individual members

We must recognize the style of karate taught at the club as having it's origins in a traditional Okinawan or Japanese system.

Every registered member receives an automatic membership into the National Karate Association of Canada.

Members are eligible to participate in various clinics, seminars, black belt recognition, and officiating programs.

All instructors and high ranking belts may pursue theory, technical, and practical certification in the National Coaching Certification Program.

Insurance coverage, both accident and liability, is automatic for all registered members.

An elected ten member board of directors governs Karate Ontario between annual general meetings.

Registered black belt members are entitled to vote in person, or by proxy, at annual or general meetings of both Karate Ontario and the National Karate Association of Canada.

APPLICATION CRITERIA

Register, at minimum, one Black belt (instructor) and 5 students, however all club members must be registered after the application is approved. To speed up the process, it is recommended all club members be registered at the time of application.
